I first saw the Paul Winter Consort at Earlham College in 1976 or 1977. I next saw them at Woodside Church in Flint, Michigan, in the late 70′s or early 80′s. Those experiences have stayed with me all these years. I listened the other night on WCMU radio to the solstice concert. I don’t think we were hearing the entire concert, and the announcer, who could easily be dispensed with, kept interrupting, and talking over the music. He prevented the listeners from getting into the mood. I wished I could have been there in New York. It must be awesome.
