The Paul Winter Consort celebrates the Winter Solstice with a musical journey through the longest night of the year, recorded live in the stunning acoustics of the world’s largest Gothic cathedral, New York’s St. John the Divine. Solstice Live! features the Paul Winter Consort and a community of 20 guests, including the Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble from Russia, Andes Manta from Ecuador, Galician bagpiper Nando Casals, Celtic vocalist Nóirín Ní Riain, and gospel singer Kecia Lewis-Evans.
Solstice Live! captures the Paul Winter Consort’s legendary annual Winter Solstice Celebration, in the world’s largest Gothic cathedral, New York’s St. John the Divine. A world music festival, with twenty guest artists from around the world, this album embodies the adventure and drama of this musical journey through the longest night of the year.
