Solstice Gems is a 2-disc National Public Radio Special Retrospective celebrating 20 years of Paul Winter’s Winter Solstice Celebrations at New York’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The album features the Paul Winter Consort and their special guests, including Theresa Thomason, Pete Seeger, Susan Osborn, Davy Spillane, Noirin Ni Riain, Mickey Hart, Kecia Lewis-Evans, Luciana Souza, Oscar Castro-Neves, Arto Tuncboyaciyan and the Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble.

Central to all the traditions of Solstice is the renewal of spirit, symbolized by the rebirth of the sun. Winter Solstice is a time for healing and for hope. It is a time to celebrate community and relatedness and a time to honor the diversity and the unity of this great cornucopia of life on Earth. ”
